AMK KRAV MAGA MEDWAY Instructors

Instructor Ben. Ben has been training in Krav Maga since 2017 and qualified as an instructor in Israel. He opened AMK Krav Maga in Canterbury in 2023 with a clear goal: to build a proper self-defence training centre where normal people could learn real skills, get fitter, build confidence and become part of a strong community.Since opening AMK Canterbury, Ben has built a full-time Krav Maga centre delivering adults, teens, kids and ladies-only classes, alongside specialist self-defence workshops and community safety events.Ben is also a BTEC Level 3 qualified self-defence instructor and has delivered personal safety and self-defence training in partnership with organisations including Kent Police, local councils, schools and community groups.His teaching style is direct, practical and supportive. He believes good Krav Maga training should be realistic, safe, well-structured and accessible to normal people; not just naturally confident or athletic people.At AMK Medway, Ben’s focus is simple: build a proper training community with high standards, strong coaching, no egos, and a clear pathway for members to develop.

Instructor Gemma. Gemma is co-founder and instructor at AMK Krav Maga, and part of the AMK Medway coaching team.Gemma has been training in Krav Maga since 2017 and qualified as an instructor in 2023. She co-founded AMK Krav Maga with Ben in Canterbury, helping build the club into a full-time self-defence training centre with adults, teens, children’s classes, ladies-only sessions and specialist personal safety events.Gemma brings a calm, supportive and professional approach to coaching. She is especially passionate about helping people build confidence, resilience and practical self-defence skills in a safe and welcoming environment.Alongside her Krav Maga background, Gemma has over 20 years’ experience in learning and development, with a strong background in coaching, leadership, communication, team development and performance. This gives her a clear, structured teaching style and a strong understanding of how people learn.Gemma also plays a key role in AMK’s community safety work, including women’s personal safety and self-defence sessions delivered alongside local partners.At AMK Medway, Gemma’s focus is on helping members feel welcome, supported and capable from the moment they step on the mats. She is a strong believer that Krav Maga is for normal people who want to feel fitter, safer, more confident and part of a proper training community.

Instructor Leanne Leanne is part of the AMK Medway instructor team and will play an important role in delivering our kids’ classes.Leanne has been training in Krav Maga for several years and has been teaching for the last 2.5 years. She has a strong passion for self-defence and is committed to helping students build confidence, awareness and practical skills in a supportive training environment.Leanne has experience working with children from a wide range of backgrounds and needs, which gives her a patient, adaptable and understanding approach to coaching. She understands that every child learns differently and works hard to make classes structured, engaging and positive.Her classes are known for being high-energy, well-organised and focused. Children can expect to work hard, have fun, build confidence and develop practical self-defence skills in a safe and encouraging setting.Leanne is also working towards teaching women’s-only classes, with a focus on helping women build confidence, personal safety awareness and real-world self-defence skills.At AMK Medway, Leanne’s focus is on helping young students feel welcome, capable and proud of their progress while building the foundations of confidence, discipline, fitness and self-defence.

Instructor Delphine. Delphine, known to many as Del, is part of the AMK Medway instructor team and brings a huge amount of experience, energy and passion to the club.Del has been training in Krav Maga and martial arts since 2012 and holds the rank of Expert 2 Black Belt. She is a qualified Krav Maga Instructor and Krav Maga Kids Instructor, with experience coaching both children and adults.Based in Medway, Del brings a strong local connection to the new AMK Medway site. Her energy, enthusiasm and love for training make her an inspiring presence on the mats, whether she is coaching beginners, supporting younger students, or training hard herself.Del also holds a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award in Conflict Management and a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award in Self Defence Instruction, giving her a strong foundation in practical personal safety, communication and real-world self-defence training.Her additional qualifications include a Tactical Shooting Course Level 1 and a QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid.At AMK Medway, Del’s focus is on helping members grow in confidence, develop practical skills, and enjoy their training in a supportive, high-standard environment. She is a valued part of the coaching team and will play an important role in building AMK Medway from day one.

Instructor Dan Dan is part of the AMK Medway instructor team and brings a strong mix of self-defence, fitness and practical coaching experience to the club.
Dan began training in Krav Maga in 2016 and qualified as an instructor in 2019. He wanted to learn something practical, non-competitive and effective; something that could help him protect himself and his family in the real world.Since then, Dan has built a reputation for delivering popular, high-energy classes that combine good quality fitness work, practical Krav Maga, technical precision and a strong emphasis on situational awareness.Alongside his Krav Maga background, Dan is also a qualified First Aid Instructor, able to deliver accredited, nationally recognised qualifications. He is also trained to deliver several other accredited qualifications, giving him a strong focus on building capable, confident people with skills that have real-world application.Dan’s classes are known for being challenging, enjoyable and well-balanced. Members can expect to work hard, improve their fitness, sharpen their self-defence skills and leave feeling like they have genuinely progressed.
